WUMC Youth: First Meeting Recap

We had an amazing time at our first youth group meeting! Our youth shared food, laughter, Scripture, and prayer as we began building a group where they can grow in faith and serve our community.

Ms. Suzannah made tacos for everyone. Ms. Rachel led a Scripture Scavenger Hunt, and Pastor Rick got us moving with Head, Shoulders, Knees, Cup. Ms. Lynette spoke about the importance of prayer and knowing Scripture. Pastor Rick shared a devotional on 1 Timothy 4:12: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young.” Ms. Gwen led us in prayer, and Mr. Michael captured pictures of the gathering.

The youth introduced themselves, shared their schools, and wrote down prayer requests and concerns on their hearts. They also offered ideas for future activities, people and groups they would like to help, and topics they want to discuss.

Our next meeting is October 11, from 12:00–2:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. All youth ages 11–18 are welcome. You do not have to be a member of WUMC to join us!
