My name is Norma Villagrana, and I was born and raised in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico.
In 1992, I graduated from the School of Law and moved to the US in 2002. I served as a missionary and local pastor in the Missouri Conference of the UMC for 15 years. During my service, I received my call into ordained ministry. In 2017, I was ordained as an Elder in Full Connection at the Missouri Conference. In 2016, my family and I moved to North Carolina, and in 2018 I became a member of the Western North Carolina Conference of the UMC.
I am currently appointed as the Senior Pastor at Waxhaw UMC. I love the Gospel and the Great Commission, and I have a deep desire in my heart to see all people come to know Christ. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16).
I feel blessed to have a beautiful family, which includes my husband Hugo, and my daughter Mariana. I enjoy spending quality time with them, such as having picnics, hiking, and traveling together.
